The day 20 October 2011 marked a new milestone for UBS partnership ministry in China. An inaugural seminar entitled “The Role of Christianity in Modern China: The Bible in China” was jointly organized by The Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) and Centre for Studies of Religion and Culture, with the support of British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) and United Bible Societies (UBS). Professor Yan Kejia, Director of Institute of Religious Studies with SASS, in his Opening Ceremony speech warmly welcomed Archbishop John Chew, Vice President of UBS, Mr David Smith, International Programme Manager of BFBS and Rev. O Glorious Day: China Bible Ministry Exhibition in Dallas

Dallas, Texas, was the next venue for the “Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Protestant Church in China” held on October 31, 2011. The opening ceremony attended by over 500 guests was filled with songs of praise to God led by the worship team of Northwest Bible Church as well as speeches of encouragement by the various honorary speakers. Rev Kan Baoping, General Secretary of China Christian Council, began his opening address by exhorting all believers to look to the Truth, the Word of God, which shapes our future and eternal life, and not to be overwhelmed by the daily grind of the world. The opening ceremony of the “Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Protestant Church in China” was held at the oldest church in Chicago-- First United Methodist Church at the Chicago Temple on October 11, 2011. This was the second venue for the exhibition, following its first at Washington D.C on 28th September. President of the China Christian Council, Rev Gao Feng, praised God for “the miraculous blessings of God on the Church in China.” Read more [...]
